Resolution

The Covid-19 pandemic makes it all the more urgent for the U.S. to install a system of Medicare for All.

For the affirmative:

Gerald Friedman is an economics professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He became nationally prominent during the 2016 presidential election after writing an analysis of Bernie Sanders campaign policies saying they would boost income and jobs if they were enacted. His latest book, The Case for Medicare for All, was published in March 2020.

For the negative:

Sally Pipes is President, CEO, and Thomas W. Smith Fellow in Health Care Policy at the Pacific Research Institute. Her latest book, False Premise, False Promise: The Disastrous Reality of Medicare for All, reached #1 on Amazon’s Health Law bestseller list. She also published over 400 op-eds nationwide in 2019, including regular columns for FoxNews.com, forbes.com, and the Washington Examiner.
